Aljamain Sterling will take on Henry Cejudo in the main event contest on May 6, 2023 to defend his Bantamweight Championship title. The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey which can accommodate 19,500 fans decided as host venue. Live stream will be available all across the globe through pay-per-view streams and TV broadcasters.

UFC 288 Fighters Salaries & Purse Payouts
Main and Co-Main event fighters will receive higher payouts than other fighters. The defending champion Aljamain Sterling will bag guaranteed purse of $1 Million. $100k additional will also be awarded to him in case of winning. The sponsorship bonus of $42k will also be available for the current champion as per Venum deal besides the estimated pay-per-view money share of $700k which could be high in case of increased PPV sales. On the other side, the challenger will take home guaranteed purse share of $750k besides the sponsorship money of $32k and PPV bonus.
Belal Muhammad will earn guaranteed $550k and sponsorship bonus of $16k for fighting the co-main event of UFC 288 against Gilbert Burns who will bank $450k. Both fighters will also receive PPV money share. Jessica Andrade, professional Women’s Strawweight fighter is also set to fight in the main card. She will receive purse money of $300k. While her opponent Yan Xiaonan will get $150k besides the sponsorship bonuses.
Many young fighters including the likes of Rolando Bedoya, Braxton Smith, Rafael Estevam, Joseph Holmes, Claudio Ribiero and Daniel Santos are going to make their debut in Ultimate Fighting Championship through this event as the UFC 288 fight card already confirmed. They all will purse $12k as the guaranteed money and additional $4k in terms of sponsorship bonus.
